Here’s a challenge! Say the following statements out loud:
- I am confident and brave.
- I am important.
- I go after my dreams.
- My family loves me.
- I am smart and I have good ideas.
- I learn from my mistakes.
- I can solve problems.
How did that make you feel? (It’s ok if you giggled along the way!)
Saying positive things about yourself – especially out loud – is good for you! It’s like taking an imaginary vitamin to boost your self-esteem. And when we have better self-esteem, we have happier days! These booster statements are called positive affirmations.
The Glitter Girls make positive affirmations every day! Now, we’re taking things a step further with a fun flower craft to practice them creatively. In each flower, kids write something nice about themselves. Then, they put their flowers together as an empowering bouquet or a garland of positivity. Try this with your kiddo at home, and write nice things about each other, too! You can 100% make flowers for yourselves as well as friends and family.
To complete the craft, you will need our guide below, a pair of scissors, a glue gun, and a pen or pencil. If you want to color the flowers yourself, use colored pencils, markers, or crayons. We hope you enjoy this craft as much as we do, and that it inspires you to have a positive day!
